OPEN LETTER TO MR PRESIDENT OVER ISRAELI ATTACK ON HOLY SITES
OPEN LETTER TO MR PRESIDENT OVER ISRAELI ATTACK ON HOLY SITES

Globally, people are more concerned about situations in Palestine and Israeli attack on Holy sites in East Jerusalem.

Leaders of nations, Christians and humanists are of the opinion that without Palestinian freedom and Jerusalem liberation, their own freedom is incomplete.

Mr President, it is well known that Palestinians who constituted 92% of the population and owned 94% of Palestinian cultivated lands in 1920 were one of the first people in the world fighting colonialism.

They were demanding their freedom and self-determination at the same time when Gandhi, the leader of India’s National Congress, was leading the non-violent struggle for the subcontinent’s freedom.

India, the largest democracy in the world today, achieved independence in 1947 but Palestine is yet to be free.

Sir, as the President of the most populous country in Africa, harboring one third of African Muslims, I think as African leader, Nigeria must not keep silence on burning issue in the World; there should be official statement from our dear country to stop the recent Israeli attack on Muslim third rated Mosque (Aqsah) and some Christian Holy site in East Jerusalem.

Sir, you could remember the role played by the late Nelson Mandela of South Africa in the cause of Palestinian liberation; our country also must take its leadership role as a country blessed with the President who believes in human values and human rights; freedom, justice, peace, democracy and equality.

Nigeria must take its stand against Injustice to Muslim World and minority Christians in East Jerusalem.

May Allah bless our dear Country.

Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan,

The National President, Jama’at Ta’awunil Muslimeen
